Welcome to FRAEC! Last year, we celebrated our 20th Anniversary! When we started in 1989, improved U.S.- Soviet relations were promising a safer world and opening new opportunities for business between our countries. FRAEC, then as now, works to strengthen economic and community ties with Russia, especially at the regional level.

While commerce between our countries is growing, it is only a fraction of the potential. In fact our two Presidents have called for an increase in our bilateral trade and cooperation. The solution lies in connecting a wide variety of people. FRAEC works at many levels, whether assisting U.S. and Russian companies to succeed in partnership, or working with policymakers on issues to create a better business environment. FRAEC brings people together to advance constructive dialogue and understanding.

FRAEC also works to strengthen our community partnerships with Russia. We work closely with our Russian partners to develop their capacity to meet the needs of their communities. We are an important resource to the non-profit communities in areas such as health, governance, rule of law, youth services, and education.

Our U.S.-Russian relationship has had its ups and downs, however, just as in 1989, we believe that connecting people in the areas of business and community development is critical to creating a safer world. Together with our extended family of FRAEC members, sponsors, major funders and Friends of FRAEC, we can continue to make a difference in our relationship with Russia.
